Dr. Julie Zimmerman started her involvement with Jewish liturgical music as an accompanist, organist, and Sunday School music teacher under the tutelage of Cantor Gedaliah Gertz. Now on her second career, Julie studies the intersection of prayer and music in Jewish service. Julie is the choir director of the volunteer choir at Temple Israel, Akron, Ohio. Her most recent GTM activity has been "Honoring our GTM Past Presidents", a series of biographical sketches of several former leaders which have appeared on Facebook and GTM website over the last year. Julie is happily married to Terry, living in Akron, Ohio. She is the proud mother of a son, Jason, and his wife Shelley.
