Courtney Cummings earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music from Kenyon College and furthered her studies at the Eastman School of Music where she received a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance & Literature. After completing graduate school, she worked for 6 years at the Mayerson JCC in Cincinnati in a variety of roles, including the Cultural Arts Director. She left the JCC in 2013, and became the Music & Program Director at Temple Israel in Dayton, Ohio. In this role, she creates engaging programs and activities for all congregants, and serves as the cantorial soloist for the congregation.
As a soloist, Cummings has appeared with the Knox County Symphony, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra, Dayton Jewish Chorale, Young Professionals Choral Collective, and the Dayton Playhouse. Outside of performing, she stays active as a runner and treasures time with her husband and young son.
